Faith

Job wasn't perfect, but the Bible does say he was "blameless and upright" (Job 1:1).Even though God humbled and rebuked him at the end of the story--" 'I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.' "(42:5-6)--Job had faith. "Though He slay me," Job says in 13:15, "yet will I trust Him."


What does your faith look like? Are you willing to place your life completely in God's hands? Are you willing to leave it there? Are you willing to trust Him no matter what?


My Bible labels Habakkuk 3:17-19 "A Hymn of Faith." I'm always awed when I read this passage and forced to asked myself, "Is this the kind of faith I have?"

"Though the fig tree may not blossom,

nor fruit be on the vines;

Though the labor of the olive may fail,

and the fields yield no food;

Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,

and there be no herd in the stalls--

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD,

I will joy in the God of my salvation.

The LORD God is my strength;

He will make my feet like deer's feet,

And He will make me walk on my high hills."
