Jr. Camp is over...but some of the bumps and bruises are still going away. :)

My co-counselor and I had a lot of fun with the Western theme and got all decked out the first day to welcome our girls in!

It was an amazing week watching God do awesome things...and remembering He is sovereign in the midst of people's sin. There are always heartaches as well as joys, but overall it was a year of abandonment and watching what God can do with that!

Our "counselor theme" was
No Reserves,
 No Retreats,
  No Regrets.
This phrase was originally penned by William Borden who has an awesome story of abandonment to God and was a challenge to us all week.

This abandonment was seen in the tears counselors shed over unrepentant campers yet surrender to God who does the heart-work no one else sees.

It was seen in the bumps and bruises that are still going away. :)

It was seen in the unity and prayer support the counselors gave each other.

None of that is to the glory of any person who was at camp this year--it was all God, the God of grace, who does what men cannot, and gives grace that enables those same men to yet have a part in His plan.

Second Corinthians 12:9 was briefly used in our camp devotions one day, but it stuck in my mind like no other. And ever since. So with my handy jr. camp window markers, I wrote it out on my mirror downstairs as a reminder.

Because it's not about me, but all about God.

May all the glory be His!
